Lacey Thompson is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with offices in Myrtle Beach and Columbia, South Carolina, serving clients across Horry, Georgetown, Richland, and Lexington counties. Her practice is 100% focused on criminal defense in South Carolina state courts, and she is known for her aggressive advocacy and deep compassion for those facing criminal charges. Lacey has never served, and never plans to serve, as a prosecutor, reinforcing her lifelong commitment to standing beside the accused.

Since earning her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2013, Lacey has built a strong reputation across the Grand Strand and Midlands regions. She is a proud member of the South Carolina Bar and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (SCACDL), where she previously served as the 15th Circuit Representative on the Board of Directors.

Lacey represents clients charged with a wide range of offenses, including DUI, drug possession, assault, domestic violence, theft, and other misdemeanors and felonies. She is especially passionate about helping individuals whose legal issues are rooted in addiction or mental health challenges. Lacey strongly believes in the power of mitigation, treatment, and rehabilitation, not just punishment, and often works with families, counselors, and the court system to seek alternative solutions that support long-term recovery.

Outside the courtroom, Lacey enjoys time with her husband, Mark, and their two sons, Luke and Mack. A lifelong football fan, she’s often cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or her alma mater, the USC Gamecocks.
